Here we go. First blog post....ever.  I was an avid journaler growing up and I've always found writing to be cathartic.  Now, with everything going on in my life, I suddenly feel the desire to start "journaling" again.  Why an online journal?  To be honest, I'm not entirely sure.  In today's day and age of social media, it kind of feels like the natural thing to do.  Now don't get me wrong.  I'm not one of those social media obsessed types.  I go to great lengths to not over-share on Facebook.  I've never been on Twitter.  I can count on one hand the number of selfies I've taken in my life.  I can easily leave my phone at home without freaking out that I'm missing something important in the great interspace.  So again, why an online journal?  The only answer I have if I'm going to be completely honest with myself and, well, my readers (which I'm going to strive to do), is that I, like so many, crave human connection.  And although rather superficial, this is one way to achieve that.  And if someone stumbles across this blog and can find some connection to me in shared experience, what I wonderful thing.  At the least, perhaps I can at least provide some interesting reading material....
